Local Michigan Family In Need Gifted Christmas Wishlist From HomeSpec Waterproofing & Foundation Repair
HomeSpec Waterproofing & Foundation Repair is honored to have the opportunity to spread joy this holiday season! After finding out that the Detroit Police Department and Wayne County Sheriffs were gathering toys and gifts for families in need, the HomeSpec team knew they needed to get involved. The company was given the information for a local family along with their wishlist. Santa and Mrs. Claus would later accompany the DPD and sheriffs in delivering gifts to the families on a day nearing Christmas.
The goal was to get as many things from the wishlist as possible. It consisted mostly of toys and clothes for five kids all under 13 years old. The parents hoped for a coffee maker, clothes, and gift cards to grocery stores like Kroger, Walmart, Meijer, Target, and gas cards. Ultimately, what they hoped for the most was to give their family a cheerful Christmas. Both parents work very hard to provide for their family. They expressed their gratitude for anything that could be gifted.
HomeSpec announced to the employees that the company would match the total of all cash donations. For each person who donated, they wrote their name on a star with the caption, “I made a donation to help those in need.” It was an inspiring mission. Not only did HomeSpec match the donations, but the company was able to contribute enough to get higher ticket items like four bikes for the eldest siblings. They accomplished their goal of getting as much from the wishlist as possible.
There were gifts for members of the family to enjoy alone as well as gifts to share. Each of the older siblings received their own Xbox controller with unique colors to match their favorite colors. These older siblings are also very interested in sports and now have equipment like basketballs and footballs to play with together. The youngest, only 2 years old, was gifted baby toys with plenty of engaging sounds and lights. The team made certain to wrap everything, aside from the bikes, so every family member would have something to open this year.
