Leaking Basement Waterproofed With Interior Drainage System in Romulus, MI

Challenge

This new homeowner contacted us because the home he purchased from a flipper had a wet, leaking basement. The seller refused to pay for the repairs, though. After getting several estimates from different companies, the homeowner chose HomeSpec. The block wall basement had water seeping in through cracks, and where the floor and wall meet. This is a very common problem. 

Solution

Our team of specialists decided the best solution would be to install an interior drainage system, a sump pump, and a CleanSpace vapor barrier. The interior drainage system is an amazing basement waterproofing solution because it can collect the water coming up under the floor, but also the water coming in from the walls - and then direct it to the sump pump. The sump will then funnel the water away from the foundation to keep it dry.

With a CleanSpace vapor barrier covering the walls, moisture and vapor is blocked from entering, and is instead directed down to the drainage system. The CleanSpace system also covers unsightly walls and gives a bright, clean appearance to the basement.
