Unfinished, Leaking Basement in Riverview, MI Waterproofed and Finished
Challenge
A family in Riverview, MI was experiencing a significant problem with water leaking into their unfinished basement. The basement was frequently damp and had developed mold, causing a musty odor and a multitude of health issues for the family. The homeowners were concerned about the damage to their home's basement and wanted to find a solution to waterproof their basement. That's when they were referred to HomeSpec BasementFix by a friend who recently had their basement finished by us.
One of our Project Managers, Elon, who had a wide variety of experience in basement waterproofing, was called in to assess the situation and provide a viable and permanent solution for these homeowners. To address the water leakage in the basement, he recommended we install the WaterGuard Drainage System and SuperSump Plus sump pump. Furthermore, after realizing their concerns about finishing the basement, he recommended the EverLast Wall System be installed to restore the walls, The Aspen Air Filtration System to keep the basement air healthy and the Elite Plank flooring to take care of the floors.
Solution
Our crew immediately began working on this project the following week. The first step was to install the waterproofing systems in the basement before putting up the walls and finishing the floors.
To effectively remove water from the basement, The WaterGuard Drainage System channels water away from the foundation and into the basement's sump pump, keeping the basement dry and preventing further damage. Next, our crew installed the SuperSump Plus Sump Pump. This high-capacity pump is capable of removing a large amount of water quickly and efficiently, keeping their basement dry even during heavy rainfall.
To address this family’s concerns about finishing the basement, the next step in this project was to repair and restore the damaged basement walls and install the Elite Plank flooring tiles. The EverLast Wall Restoration System was ideal for this situation because its durable engineering repairs and strengthens the walls, preventing further damage from moisture and water infiltration.
Finally, our crew would address these homeowners health concerns and the musty odor. The SaniDry Sedona and the Aspen Air Filter work together perfectly to ensure the basement stays dry and the air remains clean.
