Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproof Basement Flooring Installed in Westland, MI
Project Manager: David Covert
Foreman: Jon Lont
Crack Tech: Domonique Price
This homeowner in Westland, Michigan reached out to HomeSpec after suffering from a wet basement. Because of the summer's heavy rains, water seeped into her finished basement and ruined all of the flooring – meaning everything had to be torn out and the source of the leak needed to be found.
After discovering the leaks were coming from several cracks in the foundation (behind the drywall), crack tech Domonique Price sealed them with high pressure urethane injections. The homeowner also wanted our ThermalDry® Elite Plank Flooring installed.
The faux-wood flooring means that if her basement leaks again for any reason, she won't have to tear up the flooring and throw it in the trash. The inorganic material of the flooring makes it waterproof and mold-resistant.
Water Seeping Into Finished Basement
Water was leaking into the basement from cracks in the foundation walls. The basement was finished so the owners didn't know that cracks existed behind the drywall.
Water Ruins Carpet and Flooring in Basement
The water from the heavy rains pooled on the floor and soaked the carpet in the basement. In this event, the flooring needs to be torn up and thrown away.
ThermalDry Elite Plank Flooring
The new flooring looks beautiful in the basement, plus it's waterproof and low-maintenance.
Faux-Wood Basement Flooring
Dark faux-wood flooring was installed in a separate room as well.
