Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Leaking Basement in Livonia, MI Waterproofing Solutions
A Livonia, MI home had a finished basement with drywall, epoxy floors, and a poured concrete foundation. Unfortunately, these finished features did not protect the home from water damage. The homeowners first moved in back in 1987, and they had no intention of moving in the future. But in order to live comfortably, they needed to stop worrying about water coming up in different locations throughout the basement. They reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for a free estimate.
Jeremiah, one of HomeSpec’s project managers, investigated the inside and outside of the home to identify where the water was intruding and why. He then proposed what repairs he believed would permanently solve the homeowners’s problems. He proposed installing a WaterGuard® interior drainage system, connecting that to a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump, and finalizing the repairs with Everlast Wall Restoration System. This combination of products would waterproof the basement and keep the feeling of a finished basement. The homeowners agreed to this proposal and worked out when the crews would be able to come to the house. Due to the scope of work, multiple teams were scheduled for this project. They were led by Jon D. and Jon L. with additional help from Brian and Rick. The homeowners were happy with the completed work and could finally avoid irritation from cleaning up leaks.
Interior Drainage System and Sump Pump Installed in Livonia, MI
The WaterGuard® interior drainage system consists of specialized French drains. These drains then connect to the TripleSafe™ Sump Pump so any water collected can be pushed out of the house and away from the foundation. They are covered in a layer of rocks and then a layer of plastic to protect the system from debris.
Concrete Seals IDS in Place
After the layers of rocks and plastic are applied, another layer of new concrete goes on top to make the floor complete and even again.
Everlast Wall Restoration System Installed After IDS
After the concrete from the interior drainage system dried down, then the HomeSpec crew could install the Everlast Wall Restoration System. This waterproof basement finishing product is mold-resistant and provides a clean, finished appearance.
