Unsightly Concrete Driveway Repaired in Genesee, MI

For many people, the concrete around their home is just an absolute eyesore. Cracked and sunken concrete negatively affects the curb appeal of the home, and even creates tripping hazards. Most people don't consider fixing it a priority because they think the task will be too much of a headache. That's what this Genesee homeowner thought about his driveway project. There were many cracked slabs, and there was a large gap between the house and the driveway.

But when a friend told him about HomeSpec's PolyLevel system, the homeowner finally decided to get his concrete repaired. After an inspector came out to see the damage and provide a proposal, our concrete specialists got to work.

With the PolyLevel system, a small penny-sized hole is drilled into the concrete. Then the expanding 2-part polymer rigid foam is injected underneath. As it expands, it fills in the voids between the soil and the slab. This raises the slab up and levels it with the rest of the concrete. And BOOM - it's finished! This is an environmentally safe, quick, non-invasive, cost-effective way to repair concrete.

Several slabs were cracked, so we filled them in with our NexusPro sealant. The homeowner was very pleased with the quick and easy process, and with how much better his driveway looks now!

Helical Piers Lift Sinking Slab in Flushing, MI

A homeowner in Flushing, MI requested an inspection from HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair to see if the company could level the concrete of their two-car garage. However, when Ted, the senior project manager, began the inspection, he knew this home had other concerns that would need to be addressed. The cracks were caused because the concrete slab was sinking. It had sunk so much that the floor had separated from the wall enough to see light from outside through the gap. Ted highly encouraged the homeowner to have the foundation lifted back to its proper level before repairing the cracks to ensure everything was repaired correctly. The homeowner agreed to have both repairs done by HomeSpec’s team.

The foreman, Ryan, led the team in lifting the garage back into its original place. They dug out the ground down to the foundation and used helical piers on two sides of the garage to lift it. After ensuring the house was secure, the space was filled with dirt. Other HomeSpec teams repaired the concrete cracks after the lift was completed.
The homeowner was happy with all of the work and could rest easy knowing the repairs would not be an issue in the future.

SmartJackĀ® Support System Prepares Columbiaville, MI Home for Remodel

A homeowner in Columbiaville, MI purchased their two-story 1900 home with the intention of remodeling. However, before the renovations could begin, the home would first need to be supported. The homeowner knew this to be true because the floors were sagging and sloping. They suspected the home would need support beams and the main beam to be repaired, but they wanted a professional to evaluate the situation and provide an estimate.

Ted, one of HomeSpec’s senior project managers, inspected the home and made a plan to meet the homeowner’s goals. He proposed using 16 SmartJack® supports to not only stabilize the home but also lift where the floors were not level. The homeowner was pleased with this plan and agreed to have HomeSpec install the SmartJack® supports. The crew responsible for this project was led by foreman Jon. The homeowner was happy to know their home was thoroughly supported and that they could move on to the rest of the renovations.
