Homeowner in Wyandotte, MI who was experiencing health problems due to mold in the basement has WaterGuard installed
A homeowner in Wyandotte, MI was experiencing persistent health issues, including frequent headaches and respiratory problems, which they attributed to mold growing in their damp and leaky basement. Despite repeated attempts to clean the mold and fix the leaks, the problem persisted. Concerned for their health and the value of their home, they called us to solve the issue once and for all. Our Project Manager arrived at the home and conducted a thorough inspection of the basement, including a detailed evaluation of the source of the water leaks. He recommended installing the WaterGuard Drainage System around the interior perimeter of the basement, which would intercept the water before it entered the basement, and then directing the water to the SuperSump Plus Sump Pump for removal. The homeowner agreed to the recommendation and our crew got to work. They first installed the WaterGuard Drainage System, which involved digging a narrow trench around the basement and placing the low-profile pipe in the trench above the foundation footing. They then covered the pipe with a special layer of concrete and sealed it to the wall to create a watertight barrier. Next, The SuperSump Plus Sump Pump was installed in the designated sump pit, which was also sealed to prevent any mold or mildew growth. The crew tested the system to ensure that it was functioning correctly, and then cleaned up the work area. The homeowner was more than satisfied with the results. Not only was the basement dry and protected against water damage, but their health issues had also improved dramatically. The mold and mildew were gone, and they could finally use the basement as a comfortable and healthy living space. Sloping Foundation and Flooding Basement Solved with Helical Piers and WaterGuard in Romulus, MI
A homeowner in Romulus, MI who had noticed their foundation cracking and showing signs of sloping to one side was concerned about the structural integrity of their home and knew that they needed to address the problem as soon as possible. After consulting friends and family, they came across HomeSpec BasementFix as the best fit for this project. Upon arriving at the home, our experienced Project Manager conducted a thorough inspection of the foundation and identified the areas that were in need of repair. He noted the foundation was not only cracked and sloping, but there was also water seeping into the basement causing excess damage to the home. To address the issue of the cracked and sloping foundation, he recommended the Helical Pier Support System and the PowerBrace Wall Support System. He also recommended the WaterGuard Drainage system to solve the issue of water seeping into the basement.  The Helical Pier Support System consists of helical plates that are welded to steel beams which are then screwed into the ground using a hydraulic motor. The piers are designed to reach stable soil layers, providing a solid foundation for the home. Our crew would begin the installation process by drilling holes in the foundation and then screwing the piers into the ground. The piers were then tightened using a hydraulic jack, which helped to level and stabilize the foundation. Next, our crew would install the WaterGuard Drainage System, this system consists of a perimeter drainage channel that is installed along the foundation walls, a SuperSump Sump Pump to pump water out of the basement, and a discharge line to direct the water away from the home. Our crew started by digging a trench around the perimeter of the foundation, and then installing the drainage channel. They connected the channel to the SuperSump sump pump, which was also installed in the basement and then a discharge line was run from the sump pump to the exterior of the home to direct water away from the foundation. Finally, our crew would install the PowerBrace Wall Support System. This support system consists of steel beams that are attached to the walls of the basement using a series of brackets and anchors. The beams are then tightened, which applies pressure to the walls and helps to straighten them. Our crew installed the PowerBrace system along the entire length of the basement walls, tightening the beams as needed to straighten the walls. These three systems work together to provide a comprehensive solution to foundation problems and basement waterproofing that is designed to keep the home safe and dry for years to come. Once all of the work was completed, the homeowner was more than satisfied with the results. The foundation was now level and stable, and there was no longer water seeping into the basement causing them unnecessary trouble. The basement walls were also straightened and secure.
