Basement with Previous Water Damage in Ann Arbor, MI gets Waterproofed with WaterGuard
A homeowner in Ann Arbor, MI had experienced water damage problems in their basement a few years ago, leaving them concerned about its long-term stability. Determined to protect their investment and create a secure living space, they reached out to friends and family for recommendations. The homeowner had no immediate concerns, but they were contemplating finishing their basement to add property value and maximize their living space. However, before investing thousands of dollars into a basement remodel, they wanted to analyze the foundation of their home. Understanding the significance of getting the project done right, they reached out to us for a solution.
When our Project Manager arrived, he began by inspecting the basement, taking into account the previous water damage and the age of the house, which was built in 1965. Once he had completed his inspection, he crafted a tailored solution that would not only address the existing water damage but also provide long-lasting protection to this family. He first recommended they install the WaterGuard Drainage System to address the waterproofing needs and then recommended the SuperSump Plus to ensure the water was being removed efficiently. The WaterGuard, a french drain system, is designed to capture water seepage and direct it away from the basement, preventing it from causing any damage. This specific system features a design that allows it to be installed without requiring any external digging or excavation. Furthermore, he proposed installing the SuperSump Plus sump pump system. This sump pump uses a powerful pump, a durable liner, and an airtight lid to ensure its collecting water and redirecting it away from the basement,
When our crew arrived to install the systems, they began by excavating a small section of the basement floor along the perimeter, creating a trench for the WaterGuard system. The drainage pipes were then installed, ensuring that any water entering the basement would be collected and diverted towards the SuperSump Plus sump pump. After the WaterGuard system was securely in place, our crew set up the SuperSump Plus. They positioned it at the lowest point in the basement, allowing it to collect the most amount of water.
Happy to have their concerns addressed, the homeowner now had a robust waterproofing system in place, safeguarding their basement from potential water damage and providing the foundation for a worry-free remodeling project.
