Driveway and Garage Concrete Repair in Davisburg, MI
This Davisburg homeowner contacted HomeSpec to repair his concrete driveway and concrete slabs. He did some research first and chose HomeSpec since we have the best, highest reviews (he chose correctly!). The problem was that the driveway and garage slabs were cracked and sinking, with weeds growing in between the cracks. The homeowner didn't want to remove and re-pour the concrete, so we informed him that PolyLevel was an efficient and affordable way to fix the issue.  The slabs were lifted and evenly leveled by injecting the PolyLevel foam under the slabs to fill in the gaps in the soil. Then all of the joints were sealed with our NexusPro joint sealant, and the concrete looked as good as new! He was able to use his driveway again that same day.

Leaky Basement Waterproofed in East China, MI
These homeowners had water constantly flowing into their basement - and they were sick of it. The walls and floors had ugly rust stains, and they were always worrying about their basement flooding during heavy rains. They finally decided to reach out for help, and called HomeSpec.  Our professionals suggested installing an interior drainage system and a new sump pump. Holly, Mi Basement Waterproofing and Crack Repair
A homeowner in Holly, Mi had left the cracks in a basement wall unattended for a touch too long. Eventually, as the cracks worsened over time, they began letting water in whenever it would rain, with water leaking down her walls causing further damage and the pooling water staining her floors. Unaccustomed to wet basement problems, she turned to her neighbor for advice, who in turn referred her to their basement waterproofing contractor of choice. Homespec.   Understandably upset by the situation she found herself in, the homeowner was met with one of the project managers. Our representative sat down with her and talked her through all her concerns one by one before conducting a proper inspection of the problem and personalizing a solution for her. Our crew removed her drywall to get to the source of the cracks, before installing our WaterGuard French drainage system along the perimeter of the basement. Engineered to sit along the foundation footing to ensure it doesn't clog from dirt and debris like other drains, the WaterGuard drains away water it collects seamlessly into a newly installed basin. The basin in question would be outfitted with the TripleSafe basement sump pump system. This solution is comprised of 3-seperate pumps. A primary pump for traditional needs; a secondary pump for extreme cases where the first pump may not be enough to handle a flood, and finally a battery backup system to keep the home nice and dry in case of a power outage. Cracks were sealed with a high-pressure urethane crack injection and had carbon fiber armor installed along slits dug out along the most serious cracks to ensure they wouldn't no longer spread. The removed drywall would be replaced with the Foamax insulating wall panels, not traditionally meant for wall finishing solutions due to its lower durability being a risk with small children, the foamax worked excellently as stylish yet function finish and bonus insulation solution for this single homeowner.   The homeowner was overjoyed with their newly waterproofed basement, and even more delighted when their job was further discounted with our referral program.

HomeSpec Fixes Foundation Issues and Encapsulates Crawl Space in Fenton, MI
This home in Fenton, MI has been in a family for decades. Each owner wants to make the space their own, to leave their mark for the next homeowner. Most recently, the current homeowner inherited the house from their aunt. They would like to add an addition but knew that in order to make that happen, the main house needed to be stabilized first. After searching for a company in the area without luck, they decided to expand their search and found HomeSpec Waterproofing & Foundation Repair. They set up a free inspection to get a full understanding of what their house needed.   The inspector, Erik, came out to the house and did a full sweep both inside and outside. This home has a crawl space with a block foundation. He could tell that the foundation had begun to settle and would need SmartJack® system installed to support it. He also recommended using CleanSpace® crawl space encapsulation system to protect the home from mold, moisture, and pests. Other recommendations included adding an exterior discharge line, downspout extension, rerouting the plumbing, and HVAC. The homeowner appreciated the thoroughness and approved these projects to ensure their home would be in tip-top shape.   A HomeSpec team, led by foreman Jon L and plumber Rick F, set to work on this multipronged project. They transformed the crawl space from dirty, cold, and damp to clean, encapsulated, and dry with plenty of support throughout the entire underside of the home. Once the team buried the exterior discharge line, you would never have known it was dug up in the first place. The homeowner was ecstatic that the foundation issues had been corrected and recommended HomeSpec Waterproofing & Foundation repair for anyone who needs help with their foundation.
Condensation in Crawl Space in Romeo, MI
One summer, this Romeo, Michigan homeowner felt that his home was more humid than normal. His air conditioner was working overtime trying to cool the sticky, dense air. One day he went into his crawl space for something, and witnessed a scene that shocked him - condensation had formed over all of the surfaces. It was extremely musty and wet.  The homeowner was surprised because he thought having opening vents in his crawl space would allow air to pass through freely and keep it dry - but it did the exact opposite. This is a very common misconception. When the humid air enters the crawl space, it cools and deposits moisture. That’s when you find condensation - and eventually mold. Our crawl space expert explained this to the homeowner after completing the inspection. The homeowner decided to have his crawl space encapsulated and a dehumidifier installed to solve this problem. The vapor barrier sealed the entire area and blocked water vapor from entering. Our powerful dehumidifier controlled the moisture in the air. The homeowner felt an immediate difference in the air quality of the home above. He was so glad he called HomeSpec!
