Family In Canton, MI has Full Waterproofing Solution Installed in the Basement of their New Home
A family in Canton, MI had just purchased thier dream home three years ago, complete with a basement made of poured concrete. The basement was partially finished with drywall, making it an ideal space for recreational activities and storage. However, their excitement was short lived as they noticed water seeping in where the floor met the wall, causing them to research extensively. They learned that the basement was vulnerable to water intrusion due to the presence of vertical cracks. Although the previous homeowners had repaired these cracks, they were still causing recurring leaks, leaving this family with the task of cleaning up the mess each time. They were also worried about the potential growth of mold and damage to their belongings, not to mention the integrity of the foundation itself. Once they had reached out to us, we scheduled a free inspection to assess the issue and provide a solution for this family.
After a thorough assessment of his basement, our Project Manager recommended a complete basement waterproofing solution, the WaterGuard Drainage System, the SuperSump Plus sump pump and High Pressure Urethane Crack injection to seal the cracks permanently.
The first line of defense was the WaterGuard, an interior drainage system that sits above the foundation footing. Our crew installed the WaterGuard along the perimeter of the basement floor, directly against the walls. This system would intercept any water trying to make its way inside and direct it towards the SuperSump Plus. To address the water accumulation, our crew installed the SuperSump Plus, a sump pump system designed to pump high volumes of water away from the foundation, ensuring its protection. This high-capacity pump was placed in a corner of the basement to collect water from the WaterGuard system and expel it away from the home through a discharge line. Finally, to tackle the vertical cracks that remained a concern, our crew used High-Pressure Urethane Crack Injection to seal them up for good. This involved injecting a specialized urethane material into the cracks at an incredibly high pressure. As the material seeped deep into the cracks, it formed a waterproof barrier, effectively sealing them and preventing any further water from leaking through into the basement.
Once all the products were installed, the family finally felt a sense of relief and reassurance. From that day on, they no longer worried about rain storms or snow melt causing water issues in the basement.
